Chapter 1. Short video — for beginners

A short video has time for one idea. You name it in the first two seconds with a frame or with words. A greeting, a logo and “watch to the end” waste those seconds: the person swipes on. This chapter is about a video that can be watched through with no sound and no budget.

A short video is often watched with no sound. Captions repeat the speech and do not contradict the frame. Mistakes in the product name are fixed before publishing: automatic transcription makes them often. If the idea is clear only with sound, the video is weak for a feed.

If the video leads to an action, the end has one step and one link. The step is named the same way as on the page. Two links and two products do not fit into fifteen seconds so that they are understood. A video with no action is also fine: it holds the topic. Not every video sells.

One video does not show whether a topic exists. You publish a series: several videos of one idea at one rhythm, for example every other day. The series shows which hook people watch through. Someone else's videos are not inserted into your series.

The first videos of the series go out with no paid promotion. You watch whether people reach the middle and the end. A video people leave at once is not promoted: the budget will repeat the same exit. You turn promotion on for a video people already watch through, and you send it to the same one link.

The video uses your frame, or a frame you are allowed to use, and sound under the same rule. Someone else's clip, face or mark does not speed the series up: the video gets limited and the series breaks. If the offer requires an ad mark, it is on the video and in the caption.
